Seeking the Light

Last week, while I was waiting for my hug at the Amma EventI spent a lot of time just sitting and observing: Observing the people as they interacted with one another (or didn’t); observing the volunteers as they set up the equipment and lubricated the Machine that fed the devotees up to the stage; observing Amma giving one hug after another after another; and, while the chanting was going on, observing the English translations on the big screen above the stage.

It’s the translations of the chanting that really struck me. Over and over the chanting was about Amma as a personification of the Divine. Many of the people attending—and certainly those doing the chanting—believe Amma to be God Incarnate.

This isn’t anything new in most Indian religions, gurus are often considered an incarnation of the Divine, but from my perspective it struck me as both ironical and profoundly sad. … Read more…

All personal growth seems to follow a pattern, a cycle between two states:

  • Witness (recognizing and learning something new)
  • Participant (integration and living the newly learned knowledge)

When I advise people to live as a Soul, what I am saying is:

  • Read up on all the evidence of the Soul (witness life as a Soul)
  • Live and act as if you live forever (participate in life as a Soul)

Same with Radiance, read up on the theory (witness it) then bring it to life (participant in it). Ditto Emptiness. … Read more…

I tossed the plastics into a trash bag and built a bonfire from the remaining wood out of the garbage some anonymous camper had left behind. The night was dark and cool and the flames grew to a height of over six feet.

Ah, if it were only so easy to burn away self-centered thoughts. … Read more…

I received the following email from Jerry Freeman yesterday:

Hi, Wayne

I’m enjoying your interview with Rick Archer. If you have a little time, you might find some of the information in this interview, about the sequential unfoldment of higher states of consciousness, of interest. I recorded it with Rick in October of 2013:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOcu54z9PHY

The more relevant material begins about 43 minutes into the interview. If you skip the lead-in, you won’t miss anything important.

If you do get a chance to listen, I would be interested in your comments.

Best wishes,

Jerry

I haven’t responded yet, indeed, this post may end up being my response, but I found Transcendental Meditation’s higher levels of consciousness remarkably similar to my experiences, though not being familiar with TM, my vocabulary is naturally different. … Read more…

I woke, rolled out of bed, made some coffee, bathed, took care of the scheduled monthly tasks, then hopped into the driver’s seat and drove off to parts unknown. With a direction in mind, but no destination, I drifted westward until I saw a forest road that felt right, turned down it and bumped along while taking turns based solely on intuition rather than maps or mind. I stumbled upon a nice shady camp, parked, and took a walk.

Just as I finished typing the above, the mysterious pickup truck drove by, indicating I should now have the camp to myself for as long as I like (probably only a day or two). … Read more…

I awoke last night with the thought, “Why don’t people share my work?” Like a fool, I had glanced at the Batgap home page before I went to bed and saw my interview had a grand total of six Facebook shares. Even taking into account only being listed for a week, I figured that if people liked my interview as much as the previous guest, I should have at least 25.

Funny how the mind works in the middle of the night. … Read more…

On our last day together, Michelle said to me, “Wouldn’t it be neat if that happened during your BATGAP interview?”

“I dunno..,” I said uncertainly, hunched over and wiping the tears from my eyes.

That” was the collective pain of all the women of the world who have ever been objectified. “That” was what Michelle called, me accessing the Collective Consciousness.

It’s an absolutely wonderful experience… and it sucks horribly. … Read more…

Haters And Caregivers

RIM ROAD, AZ — #BATGAP #Emptiness #FourthWall #MiracleLog

May 28, 2015 7:30 AM

As to be expected, the attention from the BATGAP interview has brought with it the ire of the haters. Anonymous people calling me names, making fun of the way I look, the way I live, criticizing things I said half a decade ago… even my photography (now that’s just mean). Synchronistically (of course), Trey Ratcliff—one of only about a dozen bloggers I follow and who has a great saying about haters—recently put out a video where around the 10:00 minute mark talks about if you consistently do what you love, then the right people will show up. Then, this morning (more synchronicity (are you seeing the pattern here?)) Seth Godin posts about haters and that we should not take their names down, but take the names of those who are fans, supporters, and sneezers (people who share your work).

Feed the lovers, not the haters.

So to all you who are “lovers”, who are appreciative and share my stuff—and I know how difficult it is to share my work since it is so different than most nondual teachings—I say from the bottom of my heart, Thank-you. I love you.

And on the note of “so different than most nondual teachings,” I have some further thoughts about what I said in the interview about Eckhart Tolle and the need for a caregiver.Read more…
