I received the following email from Jerry Freeman yesterday:

Hi, Wayne

I’m enjoying your interview with Rick Archer. If you have a little time, you might find some of the information in this interview, about the sequential unfoldment of higher states of consciousness, of interest. I recorded it with Rick in October of 2013:

The more relevant material begins about 43 minutes into the interview. If you skip the lead-in, you won’t miss anything important.

If you do get a chance to listen, I would be interested in your comments.

Best wishes,

Jerry

I haven’t responded yet, indeed, this post may end up being my response, but I found Transcendental Meditation’s higher levels of consciousness remarkably similar to my experiences, though not being familiar with TM, my vocabulary is naturally different.

For those who don’t have the time to watch the video, TM’s levels of consciousness are briefly described here. If you do have the time, Jerry’s interview is definitely worth your while as he goes into them in more detail.

What I find most fascinating when I get emails of this nature (or the similar, “Hey Wayne, have you heard of so-and-so? He’s saying practically the same thing you are.”), is that I consider them evidence of the truth of Mystical Oneness (or TM or so-and-so’s teachings) because we were using different paths and techniques while still “discovering” that same destination/truth.

To the uninitiated, it is easy to dismiss the Intimate and Radiant qualities as fantasies, but when you compare them to TM’s God Consciousness, the similarities are striking. Ditto integrated Mystical Oneness and TM’s Unity Consciousness.

Similarities like these are important because they provide additional evidence that we’re not somehow fooling ourselves about these higher states of consciousness.

And evidence is important because without it, theories are just a bunch of noise bouncing around inside our head.

  1. I’ll have to revisit Jerry’s interview. Although I’m not particularly interested in TM, the experience he described seemed to mirror my own process and I resonated with a lot of what he had to say. I think that maybe we apply different conceptual frameworks to what is essentially a universal process?
